About Me
I have a passion for helping companies and individuals identify and manage risk, at both a personal and professional level.
With decades of experience, I led global organizations including PwC, TransUnion, and FICO as a Chief Information Security Officer. I've also built and sold online startups, managed SaaS products, and developed large-scale OLTP financial services systems as an architect and developer.
Today, I'm retired from full-time consulting and executive roles, but I help advise companies and boards on how to manage risk and position themselves for success in a competitive market. I'm open to serving as an independent board director with specific expertise in cyber risk governance, and I offer informal guidance to startups on product positioning and value articulation, at no charge.
Outside of advisory work, I contribute to the community in a few other ways: I write on Stoic philosophy and how to live well at A Modern Stoic, publish practical digital-safety guidance for individuals and families at Protect.FYI, and share free open-source tools I've built for security, privacy, and productivity on the Tools page.
